13-15/05/2025 CONCHILMEM comes to Medellín

Following an invitation from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, CONCHILMEM presented “Cartas para Pepo: intimidad, género y clase (Chile, s. XX.). Emociones y espacio en la vida del dibujante René Ríos Boettiger” at the Biblioteca Pública Piloto.
A lecture was also given to mark the opening of the Sala del Cómic at the Biblioteca Efe Gómez (Volador Campus, UNAL, Medellín), along with interviews for “Noticias UNAL” on Radio UNAL, for “Red5/7” on Emisora Cultural Universidad de Antioquia, and for “El Colombiano” newspaper.

25/04-11/05/2025 CONCHILMEM at the 2025 Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo)

The 2025 Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo) was dedicated to the body as a concept, and the event’s subtitle, “Las palabras del Cuerpo”, was intimately linked to the book through which CONCHILMEM established a presence at the venue. The Colombian version of “Cartas para Pepo: intimidad, género y clase (Chile, s. XX.). Emociones y espacio en la vida del dibujante René Ríos Boettiger” was launched at FILBo 2025, where it featured at a variety of sessions, including FILBo Debates. Cartas para Pepo received considerable media coverage in the form of TV, radio and press interviews, including Radio Nacional de Colombia’s “La Onda Sonora” program, RCN Radio’s “La Tertulia” program, “Diners” Magazine, “Conexión Sabana 360”, Caracol TV, and Canal Capital TV. The launch was also recommended as one of the 2025 Book Fair must-see lectures during two spots on Radiónica’s “Punto de Partida” program.

5-8/12/2024 - Salón del Cómic at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL GDL)

The sixth edition of the Salón del Cómic at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL GDL) was dedicated to Condorito on its 75th anniversary, and to its creator, the Chilean illustrator, Pepo. The event featured two exhibitions, and a program arranged as part of CONCHILMEM, that included a workshop titled “Dibujando a Condorito” with Rubén “Rupa” Eyzaguirre, who worked with Pepo for over 20 years.
About the exhibitions, one dedicated to Condorito, funded by FIL GDL at the Salón del Cómic, and another exhibition dedicated to Pepo at Av. Ilustradores, funded by the Chilean Embassy in Mexico. The project was also supported by PROChile, DIRAC and MINCAP. Both exhibitions were curated by Claudia Stern with the support of Fundación Pepo.
