Synopsis

Aguaviva, a small town in Teruel, was depopulating. To avoid this, its mayor made an international appeal to families willing to emigrate and settle in the town in exchange for work and housing. With this starting point, the film collects the experiences of recently arrived immigrants and the rural community that welcomes them. Always from an emotional prism, Aguaviva captures the tensions triggered by the coexistence between two groups whose fusion is not easy. The film delves into how the new inhabitants assimilate the integration process and how the locals perceive the arrival of foreigners with different ways of seeing and feeling life. Over the course of a year, the passing of the seasons marks the evolution of the protagonists, who find themselves involved in a psychological network that alters a hitherto insurmountable human landscape.
